A Level celebrations across our schools

Redhill Academy Trust students have been collecting their eagerly anticipated A Level results.

Young people at the Trust's seven Sixth Form centres, spanning Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, were delighted with their results and excited to take the next step in their education.

Emotions ran high as envelopes were torn open to reveal the all-important grades. Students' exceptional work paid off with many individuals excelling beyond expectation to achieve the grades they had hoped for - or higher!

Andrew Burns, CEO of Redhill Academy Trust, said:

Students across our sixth forms have plenty to celebrate today. Whether being accepted to top universities or securing high level apprenticeships, the important thing is that our students have been able to achieve their potential and move onto the next stage of their chosen paths.

Many will go on to study some of the most sought-after degree courses at internationally renowned institutions across the UK, including Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.

Lily Huang, who was Head Girl at Hall Park Academy, achieved A* A* A. She will be studying history and politics at Cambridge University and will be the first student from Hall Park to go to an Oxbridge University. She said: "I am overwhelmed and very happy. I feel very grateful. I had a great support system."

Emma Kelly, Head of Sixth Form at Hall Park said: "Huge congratulations to Lily. She truly deserves these fantastic results and her place at Cambridge. She has been a tremendous asset to the school in her role as Head Girl. We are all very proud of her."

At The Redhill Academy, their head girl Giullia Toffoli has also successfully earned a place at Cambridge, to read medicine.

Degree courses our students will study range from medicine, midwifery and veterinary science to archaeology, aerospace engineering, biomedical sciences, business management, politics, professional dance & musical theatre - and everything in between!

Others have been successful in gaining apprenticeships and employment opportunities within, for example, the legal services and the Armed Forces.

Tupton Hall Sixth Form student Abbie Wilbourne is now a step closer to realising her dream of being an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer; a passion she has developed through being a Cadet. In September, Abbie will be based at RAF Brize Norton working as a contractor for the RAF.  Abbie said; “I am excited for my next chapter; it’s refreshing to know that there’s a few other girls on my course, meaning that more women are tackling STEM careers. I’d advise any girl thinking of doing a subject deemed more ‘masculine’ to go for it, you’ll go far!”

At Redhill Sixth Form's Oakwood campus, which offers Level 3 vocational qualifications in Sport and Health & Social Care, there was 100% pass rate across both courses in the Year 12 cohort. While Year 13 achieved a range of Distinction and Distinction* grades.

Andy Edwards, Director of Post-16 at Redhill Trust, said: "There have been fantastic vocational performances in our Trust schools. Especially at Redhill's Oakwood campus where achievement on both the BTEC sport and BTEC Health and Social Care has been exceptional. A high number of these students have chosen to go to university and secured their places."

We would like to congratulate all students and staff on their hard work in securing these achievements and wish the Class of 2024 the very best in their next adventures!
